Mobile United is a leadership organization dedicated to developing, supporting, and encouraging a network of engaged citizens who work together for the betterment of Mobile. Through the power of connection, conversation, and collaboration, we help people understand their community more deeply and take meaningful action that improves quality of life for everyone.
Since 1972, Mobile United has connected leaders across backgrounds, industries, and generations to learn, serve, and strengthen the community we call home.
Mobile United began in 1972 with a simple belief: when people come together, communities get stronger. What started as a small group of local leaders gathering to discuss Mobile’s future has grown into a diverse network of students, professionals, and lifelong change-makers.
For more than 50 years, we’ve united people across backgrounds to learn, lead, and take action that strengthens Mobile. We bring together individuals from different neighborhoods, professions, backgrounds, and perspectives—creating space for honest conversation, shared learning, and meaningful connection.

In its early years, Mobile United focused on building relationships and breaking down barriers. The organization connected individuals who might never otherwise cross paths—business leaders, educators, public officials, and everyday citizens committed to a stronger Mobile.
As Mobile changed, Mobile United evolved alongside it. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the organization expanded its programming to include new ways for citizens to understand community issues and take action.

Today, Mobile United is a vibrant, intergenerational community of leaders—students, professionals, volunteers, and alumni—connected by a shared commitment to Mobile’s future.
Mobile United’s work is made possible by partners and sponsors who believe in developing leaders and supporting a thriving, connected community. Their investment fuels programs, task forces, youth initiatives, and long-term impact across Mobile.
Behind Mobile United is a small team of dedicated professionals committed to leadership development and community impact. We work closely with participants, partners, and volunteers to create meaningful experiences that connect people, strengthen relationships, and move Mobile forward.
