The Crepe Myrtle Trail Bike Ride, presented by Mobile United, is planned for 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, beginning in Arlington Park near downtown Mobile. This event offers an historic opportunity to ride the Mobile Bay-side of the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley.
From a survey conducted after last year’s ride, 25% of the 430 riders responded to a series of questions that have led to ride upgrades, which are making the ride safer, more enjoyable, and will raise money that will go towards the creation of a Crepe Myrtle Trail.
Here are few changes that are happening this year:
- Helmets are now Required for this event. This includes all humans in trailers and tag-a-longs.
- Registration is $10 for people ages 13 and up. Children 8-12 are free (restrictions apply)
- The new, official turn-around spot is at McNally Park.
The ride is expected to run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. No training wheels allowed. Children should be experienced riders and be able enough to ride the full 10.6 miles in potentially warm and/or windy weather. Helmets are REQUIRED for all riders – no exceptions.
